6th Grade

Educational fun with insects, nature art, and active outdoor games! It's great to be an outdoor sixth grader!

While participating in the Take-It-Outside sixth grade activities, students will collect, identify, and study local insect populations, observe damsel and dragonfly behaviors, learn about local ecosystems and natural items while completing the reflection activity, students learn how to capture prey and gather plants during the Food Grab, examine plant adaptations during the Attention activity, and the Acorns activity teachers students about winter survival and food storage strategies.

Let's engage in some educational outdoor fun!

Spring Rivers Foundation is working to align these activities with the current California Next Generation Science Standards. In the meantime, these materials will remain available for use in their current form.
