Second Grade

Exciting scientific explorations with rocks, measurements, leaves, insects, and water creatures! It's great to be an outdoor second grader!

While participating in the Take-It-Outside second grade activities, students will compare rock types and densities during the Balancing Act, learn about different sand sizes while making their own sandpaper, learn about insect structure, behavior, and diversity while participating in the insect hunt activity, compare and sort leaves during the leaf hunter activity, and study aquatic organisms during the What Lives Here activity.

Let's engage in some educational outdoor fun!

The Second Grade Take-It-Outside Activities address portions of the Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Investigation and Experimentation California Science Standards.
